"RAINBOW GIRL: LUCIA JOYCE" L'arcobaleno spezzato del modernismo

Opificio della Fotografia presenta “Rainbow Girl: Lucia Joyce – L’arcobaleno spezzato del modernismo”, evento dedicato alla giovane danzatrice che attraversò la Parigi delle avanguardie portando nel movimento la stessa libertà sperimentale del padre James Joyce nella scrittura. Figura brillante e poco conosciuta, Lucia dialogò con fotografia, danza e arte lasciando tracce sorprendenti. Il programma unisce un workshop la mattina, che traduce in gesto alcuni ritmi di Finnegans Wake attraverso la "scrittura automatica corporea" praticata da lei e dalle avanguardie e una live conversation alle ore 19 che esplora immagini, documenti, memorie, la sua frequentazione con De Chirico, Man Ray, Raymond Duncan, la sua relazione con Beckett, riaccendendo la storia di un talento visionario.

Opificio della Fotografia presents 'Rainbow Girl: Lucia Joyce: The Broken Rainbow of Modernism”, a tribute to the young dancer who traversed the avant-garde scene in Paris, embodying the same experimental spirit that her father, James Joyce, brought to literature. A brilliant yet little-known figure, Lucia engaged with photography, dance and art, leaving behind surprising traces. The programme includes a morning workshop that translates some of the rhythms of Finnegans Wake into gestures using the "automatic bodily writing" practised by Lucia and the avant-garde. There will also be a live conversation at 7 pm exploring Lucia's images, documents and memories, her associations with De Chirico, Man Ray and Raymond Duncan, and her relationship with Beckett. This event will rekindle the story of Lucia's visionary talent.
